Film Pitch
Film Pitch:
TWO FACE:
Officer Vincent is about to face not only the toughest task of his career so far, but the toughest task of his entire life so far. As a young, fresh and extremely well respected police officer, he has worked his way through the ranks to the point where, now, he finds himself subject to a secret undercover operation surrounding a gang of wanted criminals. A gang of dangerous, cunning and wanted troublemakers await him as he prepares to go undercover as a modern day gang member in an attempt to infiltrate the youths wanted for organised crimes. Officer Vincent, who goes by the undercover name of Vinnie, faces a growing uphill battle.
After working his way into the gang, Vinnie faces the task of proving his loyalty while focusing on his task by remaining in constant communication with his colleagues and informing them of any information he has gathered in an attempt to stay one step ahead of these criminals. Not only is he putting his own life is at risk but also his wife’s life; Vinnie is putting it all on the line in order to bring justice.
As the weeks go by, the gang is only gaining in stature and ambition; they continue to pull job after job, whether it be bank jobs, robbing shops or being part of large drug deals, with their target increasing in size each time. Despite the efforts of Vinnie and the police, Thompson’s gang continue to be one step ahead. As time goes by, the police remain content in observing the gang before taking them down, in an attempt to gain intel on partner gangs as well as the contacts of the gang itself, but have they waited too long?
Whilst informing his colleagues of the information he has gathered, Vinnie has started to empathise with these youths; he begins to recognise their desperate life style and how this life they live is the only way they can survive. He sees their loyalty towards each other and how they always have each other’s backs; without noticing at first, he begins to fall into the trap of going against his duties by truly befriending the gang members. His reports back to his officers become less frequent, forcing the Detectives, who sent him on this operation, to question his position and whether or not he is still on their side. With an increasing lack of information surrounding the gang, the police are unable to track their movements, meaning they have little chance of bringing them down.
Vinnie has dug himself a huge hole, one he is struggling to get out of; his growing stature within the gang has blinded him with each crime committed by the youths involving a part played by him. Has he become too involved? While the operation continues to drag out, he slowly realises his mistake yet is unable to decide whose side he is on. Where does his loyalty lie?
After months of struggle and confusion, the operation is concluded with Officer Vincent taken off the case before returning to active duty. While his loyalty appears to still be with the police, it’s made no secret that his connections with the gang certainly aren’t over.
